Each year Eurochild participates in two European events where young artists and poets who are published in the anthology get an opportunity to meet and take part in a week of cultural events and exchange.

Euroecole Festival Nantes, France

Eurochild has participated in the Euroecole Children’s Festival in Nantes since 1997. Young poets and artists who have contributed to the book get the unique opportunity to meet and read their poems at the Cite de Congress in Nantes. Participating schools will be partnered with a class from a school in Nantes, spend one week in home stays with local schools in Nantes and participate in a range of projects throughout the week. For the next few months both schools will be encouraged to correspond with each other exchanging information on their interests, culture, where they live, etc The children will get to know each other by forming pen pal relationships. Each participating school must also prepare an 8 minute piece of song/ dance/ music / drama which will be performed at the Euroecole concert at the Cite des Congres in Nantes. Teachers will be required to participate in a teacher’s conference in Nantes during the week of January when they will get the opportunity to meet with other European teachers to prepare for the exchange and develop possible themes for the festival..


The Joy of Europe Festival, Belgrade, Serbia

In October 2006 Eurochild was invited to attend the Joy of Europe Festival in Belgrade, Serbia. Song, dance, friendship,multual understanding and artistic excellance are all synonymus with the international festival of the children of Europe "Joy of Europe".This traditional event has been held annually in Belgrade since 1969 during World Children's Week. Belgrade City Council are the founder and patron of the event while it is organisesed by the Children's Culture Center Belgrade. Each October, Belgrade youngsters and their families host several hundreds of children from all over Europe, bringing sounds, moves, pictures, customs of their countries with them, as well as various skills that, during the six days of the program, they show in the streets, squares and Belgrade arenas. Downtown Carnival, Friendship Gatherings, International Arts Competition followed by the closing exhibition, Info Bazaar , half-day program at Kalemegdan, Gala Concert at the Center "Sava", Grand Party. The role of families and schools of the host children is invaluable to the organization of the Festival. There is no a single country in Europe whose children have not participated in the "Joy of Europe".
